Who needs a gym membership when mother nature is right in your backyard? An afternoon hike at Crystal Cove State Park in Laguna Beach provides both exercise and breathtaking views.

Crystal Cove State Park offers 17 miles of hiking trails for all levels. For the Sunday stroller, the green trail route is recommended (3 miles round-trip). For more advanced hikers, the blue trail route offers 11 miles of more challenging terrain. For trail information and maps, click here.

You had me at waffle - trips downtown seem less daunting with the promise of Syrup Desserts. This urban dessert cafe offers fresh brews from Intelligentsia and LA Mill, in addition to delicious liege waffle combinations served up with ice cream from Scoops. Some of the unique ice cream flavors include Scoops' signature brown bread and the ever popular blackberry jasmine.

A foodies haven, Yountville is a mandatory destination if visiting Napa. On top of boasting 5 Michelin starred restaurants within 5 blocks, it is a seriously cute place to take a stroll.

Wine Country

A recent trip to the bay area was the perfect excuse for a quick jaunt through wine country. We only had time to hit a few wineries, but lucked out as they were both amazing!

 The cheese and fruit plate was superb. The favorite was the Oregonzola, a blue cheese reminiscent of gorgonzola, produced by Rogue Creamery in Oregon.
